Projects
A few of the "bigger" projects I've built (either solo or as a duo) over the past nine-ish years.
Almost entirely built using some form of javascript and a baas. For the past few years at least, it has been entirely nextjs (typescript), tailwind, shadcn/ui, stripe, and supabase.
Geomechanics.io
activeB2B SaaS suite of engineering tools, calculators, and resources for mining and geotechnical professionals.
I feel very lucky to have been able somehow to combine my interest and background in traditional engineering with my passion for building products with code. It's growing in popularity pretty quickly, filling a genuine need, and I'm super excited to see where it goes.
UnwindHR
sunsettingB2B SaaS HR platform for small businesses, simplifying performance management, reviews, OKRs, and KPIs.
This started as a relatively small freelance project, but transitioned into a full SaaS product. It has been a huge learning curve and I had a great time building it, but ultimately didn't want to dedicate time to it given the interest in geomechanics.io.
MineWork
inactiveJob board for the Australian mining industry. Companies post jobs, and workers search and filter listings easily.
Building a job board is very easy, making a business from it is ridiculously hard. Great learning experience though!
BOXCUT
inactiveB2B mining industry directory for expanding visibility within the Australian mining sector.
Realistically, this was built about 10 years too late. Just when Google started to 'penalise' directories.
SALTKICK
inactiveB2B SaaS for marketing and procurement in offshore, subsea, and marine industries.
This was more than a project. This was my first start-up. I honestly think I made every possible mistake you can with SK. Took way too long to validate, we found issues with outsourcing, and we were too slow to pivot. Incredible time learning though!
